Fishies Are Following Eachother...

I just got 2 common goldfish yesterday. They are 1" and 2" and no where near the age for breeding(obviously!) The small one follows the big one around alot. There are no other fish, no gravel/pebbles, no plants, nothing except themselves. I can't afford a tank at the moment, so they are living in a fish bowl with a big surface area. I'm curious on why this is happening, so if anyone could help me out, it would be great. Thanks!

unless one is nuging at the other goldies butt or chasing the other one i don't think it is breeding beahaviour. Goldfish love to be together so following is not unusal i had these too goldfish together and they were best friends and they would swim together and even slept together in the same lilly pot! also in my tank right now my smaller goldfish (2") always follows the big one (4") around the tank like he is his big brother! :D

He wasn't nudging his butt. I think you're right about them just liking company. Ssadly, the 2" died a couple hours ago.

Small fishie: :( *all alone*
