So.... what are you wanting it for? I can’t say I ever use it or have had a need, the only garlic uses I’ve had are in gel food recipes for a picky fish. In which case I just use the juice from minced bottled garlic as part of the liquid to cook the recipe.

Well, I've heard that it strengthens the immune system and helps with appetite...that's what I want it for.

I’m not sure I’ve seen evidence of that, honestly, as water quality matters far more than food quality when it comes down to it. But if you’re using a flake food I suggest soaking it in a few drops of garlic juice in a spoon before feeding, to hydrate it. In a gel recipe I go 50/50 water to garlic juice or minced garlic. So if I was using 1/4 cup water to 2 tbs powder, I’d swap out 1/8 cup water for the garlic juice instead.

Garlic itself isnt bad, but I would highly recommend avoiding adding garlic water into any body of water the fish are in.

Raw minced garlic can be fed as an occasional appetite booster or a homeopathic method to paralyze some internal parasites.

I was just about to ask if garlic is good for goldfish.

I was in the kitchen looking to see if I have any frozen peas left but couldn't find any.

I found my ginger root while looking in the fridge for a good snack for the fish. (Can I feed goldfish ginger? If so, how?)

I was actually looking for garlic but I found this instead.

Still can't find fresh garlic but is garlic powder as good as fresh garlic for my fishie friends?

Goldfish should not eat ginger and refined garlic powder has little nutritional value than fresh garlic juice (the liquid left over by garlic cloves) the food should be soaked in the garlic for 10 minutes then fed. Although i would recommend using Seachem Garlic gaurd from the local fish store
