repurposed 40 gallon tank

Hello I was looking to repurpose a 40 gallon fish tank I have had for a while and thinking about adding 2 ranchu's into it.

I was doing some research online and found out that they prefer more of a long then a tall tank. would a tank on the taller side be ok for them. thank you for your time,

They should be good like that. They do like the longer tanks but you got the volume of water right for the fish
