Old Charley

The reason I have not been active even though I said I would was that my old Charley passed on, and it was hard for me.

Enough time has past and I replaced Charley with a little goldfish. However I still miss old Charley. Is it okay that I name my new goldfish after the one I lost?

Sorry you lost Charley. If you want to name the new one after him that's fine :) I've started reusing names from fish I lost a while ago now, or using their nicknames for new fish. If you feel ok with it then that's all that matters :)

I'm sorry for your loss.  What do you think of naming him New Charley? He'll have a different personality. Or Charlie Jr.?

I like Charlie Jr lol

I had a goldfish named Meerrow (pronounced Meer, as in Meerkat and Row, as in Row a boat) who died too soon.

I renamed a Bristlenose Catfish with the same name.  Eventually the Bristlenose named Meerrow died.

I later adopted a cat and named him Meerrow.  So now I have a cat who is named after 2 fish.  :P

But I've decided that the cat will keep the name and it will stay with him.

In reference to the question, name your fish whatever name makes you happy.  :)
