I know a lot of members? enthusiast has made their own aquarium stand. I also just wanna share my experience and output of my DIY stand. :)

I used 2x4's for the frame. Plywood and 1x5's for the facade. Nails , trim nails and spas screws and some pocket screws. Also added hardwares to finish my stand.

Finished it off with a black finish to match the aquarium trim :)

Modified this one by putting power strip on back of the stand. Providing me to have a drip loop. And some motion sensor LED lights inside the cabinet. 👍🏽

Here is the inside. Lot's of stuff that I can put. Planning to run the canister filter sometime. still establishing BB on this new tank. Right now am running 2 mainland bio200. one is already established with BB while other one is still being cycled/seeded.

That's a killer stand! When I tried to make one it didn't turn out nearly as nice, I think I'll paint mine black though and hopefully it'll look a bit better. Love the tank!

Yes going with a black finish kinda hides the imperfections. Though, I sanded down the facade and some of the rough areas of the plywood to give it a better smooth finish. A tip would be to place the part your goin to paint in a horizontal manner. So as paint won’t drip. And apply a thin layer per coating. Did 2 coats on mine. Have patience. 👍🏽

Appreciate the compliment.

It was fun DIY’ing a stand. Hopefully this one stands through time. 😊

I can say it looks more sturdier than mine. I found one that wasn't really the 40b stand. I think its the 40 stand so I got just a few centimeters on each side of the tank hanging off the stand :o

Ya, I’d say there is no sway while I was trying to shake the stand while the aquarium was on top. (Of course no water yet) 😂 after filling half of the tank still tried to sway the stand and still here was no shake. Which is good for me and the tank. 👍🏽
