Spotted this neat storage tub https://www.bunnings.com.au/ezy-storage-130l-christmas-tree-tub_p2583511

Would it be okay to use these to house fish? I'm thinking I should pick up a couple just in case I get fry. It would probably need a brace in the middle, but other than that, these are a perfect size, nice and long and not too deep. And has a lid too! (would obviously drill holes or something)

What do you think?

I was thinking of getting poly ponds, but these would be way cheaper and space conservative.

I bought something similar with the idea of making an indoor pond.  You would need to put a support underneath or remove the wheels.   Styrofoam may work.  Then you will need to make a frame of 2x4s to hold the shape of the box.  Alternatively, you could construct a box around it using 1/2" or thicker plywood.

Why not use a much cheaper underbed storage box?  These are shallow enough that they hold their shape with water in them.  You can nearly fill them and still have water shallow enough for babies (4" or less).

I like this one:

Yep I bought one similar to this but as it was so long the sides could not support much water.

The one you looked at seem wider and shorter so it could work. I know this one doesn't: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ezy-storage-130l-grey-storage-tub_p2583768

Other ones That would work:

or

Both of these are quite sturdy, especially the 120L

If you are set on getting the long one you would need to brace it at the top with a frame of some sort (like a wooden belt :teehee)

I'm not really set on them anymore, I think they will bow out way too much. I'm probably better off getting something like this that is a bit more sturdy, just wish it came in bigger sizes. I guess I will find something eventually.
