goldfishgirl82 2,349 Posted October 20, 2016 I just have a quick question about meds. I got a new fish and it turns out she has anchor worms. I noticed a few days after bringing her home. So, I'm going to treat with dimilin. But, I'm worried about possible infection when the worms fall out. I just want to know if anyone knows if it's okay to use Metro in the water at the same time as using dimilin. Thanks. **I didn't know where to post this so if it's in the wrong area please feel free to move it**
Arctic Mama 3,627 Posted October 20, 2016 No, don't use metro. Something like .1% salt or methylene blue is plenty inhibitory for an external secondary infection, and we have better antibiotics for that if those don't work. Metro isn't really appropriate for that sort of thing and definitely not prophylactically. Salt with the Dimlin would be my first suggestion.

I already have 0.1% salt in there from when I started the QT.
