I was having trouble getting a clear shot of stripes new spot, where the old ones were like kind of a mist and see through, this one is a solid white spot right over his eye. So here is a video from this morning.

I'll put lily in the qt soon as the hubby gets home and the meds are here. For stripes I only have one 10 gallon left for lily after a few impulse buys. Can the dips be done in a smaller container? If not I'll go pick up another 10 tonight

to me it looks more or less like the previous issue that Stripes was recently able to overcome. lets worry about setting Lily up first, and at the same time, keeping a close eye on that white matter on Stripes over the next few days, ok?

Poor little Lily looks so lonely in her qt! <a href="http://s1081.photobucket.com/user/Sereya_Dawn_Sims/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160309_2021122_zps9piarw22.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j347/Sereya_Dawn_Sims/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160309_2021122_zps9piarw22.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20160309_2021122_zps9piarw22.jpg"/></a>She has the Epson salt and metroplex in with her. Today's tests were Ammonia between 0 and .25Nitrite 0Nitrate 5Ph 7.8

Lily has had two rounds of metroplex and Epson salt now, over a 4 day period.

After the first 48 hours since she is in an uncycled qt I changed her water and gave her two measures of the metroplex back into the water and replaced the epsom salt.

I'm not seeing any changes in her. She isn't worse but she isn't any better either. Tonight how much of the meds do I put back in with her? Should I be seeing some change by now?

She is eating, active, not clamped at all, in fact the only sign of anything wrong is that swelling at her eye...Meanwhile in the main tain Stripes has started bottom sitting, and clamped up tightly with peeling slime coat on his belly where the red bloody patch used to be... But the white film/ spot is almost gone(I'm starting his salt dips unless advised otherwise)

the metro and epsom is really all we can treat this symptom with. since we treat the metro for 14 days, day 4 is a little early. you can continue the epsom for the full 14 day metro course also.

i am happy for you to do the salt dips on stripes. let us know how he handles them :)

Thanks Helen, just waiting for my husband to get home to start them.....

I'm really ready to throw my hands up right now. To wake up and find Stripes bottom sitting and clamped again.... It feels like it's never going to end. His tummy is starting to look red again now too.

The only thing I did differently to the main tank was add in some new plants I bought but I dipped them in pp first.

Stripes can NOT handle the salt dips. I had him in for a minute and he was unable to right himself. He tried several times and then went back on his side and was severely gasping. When his breathing started getting shallow I pulled him out and put him in the recovery bucket where he was able to right himself.

During the salt dip for the minute he was in however I was able to see red patches on his belly and under his chin

Hi Helen! I know you have to be so sick of me by now.

I'm just checking in.

The cycle is back going strong, my pH balance continues to be steady.

Stripes is thriving after 2 salt dips (he took the second better but still only lasted a couple minutes)

Lily has been in her metroplex and Epson salt QT for the two weeks now and she seems 100% healthy except for the fluid pocket at her eye. It hasn't changed in size still either way.

I put her back "home" this morning.

I'm at the point where I'm thinking wait and see before doing anything else but I wanted your opinion.

If you think I should start another treatment please let me know. I have the metroplex, furan 2, kanaplex, levisole, prazipro, jungle parasite Guard etc on hand and can order or buy anything else if I need too.

I'll be posting a new video soon as it uploads. It shows them all swimming happily and toward the end it has a good view of Lily's eye.

Just giving my two cents here. I had two fish that reacted similar to yours to the salt baths - immediately going sideways and gasping for air. This was even only in a 1% salt bath. It turned out to be a bacterial infection, that had no outer visible signs other than being inactive and floating in the tank. Sadly I didn't catch this and both died. Salt baths can affect the kidneys, so I would be a bit careful with those. But glad that your fish are doing well :D
