red spot on my fish

I did my water change and on one of my matte goldfish. I found a red spot that look like he is bleeding. There is no bleeding but it look like it is under the scales i am not sure what to do. would i been worried? He is happy and eat and not bottom sitting i am not sure what can cause it? :no:

Could you please provide some clear photos of the spot? That can be done by holding the fish gently against the glass, or by putting the fish in a small clear container. The photos can be uploaded to an image-sharing website and the links posted here.

      • * How often do you change the water and how much? 2-3 days and 25 to 30 gals. every 8-12 days a 80 to 95 percent water change.





  • * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? it been two days and i did a 25% water change.

  • * How many fish in the tank and their size? I have 12 and most are about 3 inches i know i need a bigger tank.

  • * What kind of water additives or conditioners? I use the aqueon water conditioners

  • * What do you feed your fish and how often? i feed them sinking pellets about three pinches twice a day.

  • * Any new fish added to the tank? no new fish

  • * Any medications added to the tank? no

  • * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. I haven't had to.

  • * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? no he is very healthy other than a red spot.

  • * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? not really... he been coming up to the surface but i think it is because the pellets dont always sink so when someone walk up to the tank he think is getting food.

I'm sorry about your fish. Thanks for filling out form. Just to confirm: you've never treated using praziquantel and/or salt, correct?
