Regular Member 210 Oranda Posted September 17, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted September 17, 2015 Wondering if anyone can tell me what should I look (exactly) when buying an "A" grade ranchu ??.. I know they're supposed to have a smooth rounded back with egg shape belly, short & deep body (rather than long) and a 45° tail However, I've seen "AA" ranchus with a "not as rounded" back so I get confused Im planning to buy from someone that is bringing them from Thailand and I wanted to make sure I get what Im paying for Thanks for your feedback !!

Regular Member jmetzger72 Posted September 17, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) I would also request a video of the fish swimming. SVR sometimes have balance issues if their proportions or tail set are off and will tip head first when they stop swimming. You want the fish to maintain a level position when they hover or stop. Regular Member RanchuDressing Posted September 17, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted September 17, 2015 Yes, I've had many a SVR that tips forward due to a too-heavy wen. Balance is important!
