Recommended Posts

Hi ! everyone !

Long time to see you.      :thumbup2:

Today, i introduce a new type of Goldfish " Mirror Goldfish"

i have just uploaded this video, so the thumbnail has yet to be reflected.

Mirror Goldfish can be identified by irregular scales dotted over its body same as Mirror Carp.

I don't find the mirror-scaled goldfish very attractive with their missing scales.  See another one here.  They sure look a lot better than the "leather" ones.

Ooh I like this one. It reminds me of chain mail armor. It's definitely prettier in the bronze.

It's gorgeous.

I'm sure it doesn't suit everyone's taste, but I think it's beautiful.

Thank you all ! :thumbup2:

Actually this type,Mirror, has yet to be fix as a type of goldfish.

So we can say it is just a mutation.

As  jenzaar said in the reply, some people think this type of goldfish is pretty and others don't.

So people who breed goldfish for a living in Japan and China never choose this type.

That's why it become rare even though this type was detected almost 100 years ago.

I'm not good at English, so,,,,if i make mistake in my English, please pardon me.

Anyway! i love him or her very much!

Perhaps with additional breeding we can get a more regular pattern of large scales as in koi.

Hi I Shakaho ! and all !

Right! i really think so, too.

So i would like to breed my fish..., but i don't have the partner of him.

Anyone is OK to fix this type and improve the scale and colors also.

if possible i would like you guys to use my video to prevail the existence of mirror goldfish.

I had better introduce another type of scale called Net transparent scale.

Each scale have transparent side and guanine covered side.

So guanine covered scales are more conspicuous compared with scales covered completely.

it's very hard to explain....

Let me show my Photos, but not my gold fish though.

This goldfish called " twinkle " , " Kira Kira " in Japanese and has already fix in Japan.

I kinda like the irregular scales - especially the all over sprinkling, which looks intentional, instead of just a row or a few, which looks like a breeding defect.

Those are called Batik scales and is a gene that fish can have. A few breeders are famous for their Batik scales fish.

It would have been neat to see this fish grow, but she died when she was just one years old... SBD :(
