Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 17, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 17, 2015 Doing another 100% WC tonight. I got all the babies out, and will be switching back to the 20 gallon at half-full, since the bunch now need more room to grow. There are now 81 of them.
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 18, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 18, 2015 I have finally decided on a name for one of the fry. This fry is the largest, and it is also a single-tailed baby. I shall name it Puppy.

Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 26, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 26, 2015 37 made it through the last cull I did. You can see the difference in so.e of their sizes.
Helper Arctic Mama Posted September 26, 2015 Helper Share Posted September 26, 2015 That's quite a spread in size!
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 26, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 26, 2015 It seems to be common with fry out of Sencha. They grow nothing like any of my Tamasaba fry did. I have a few big big ones, and had a bunch of real runts until I did that cull. I am not sure why it is this way, but I see lots of potential even in the littlest ones that I kept.
Helper Arctic Mama Posted September 27, 2015 Helper Share Posted September 27, 2015 Some goldfish just run smaller - all my tosakin are significantly smaller than orandas of the same age, for example. Body conformity is more important than size anyway
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 27, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 27, 2015 Well that may be the reason... Their dad is part Tosakin!

Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted October 3, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 3, 2015 [emoji813] They won't be small for long! I am planning on getting them into a 40B soon! Just as soon as I get a bigger tank for the big fish.
