Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted August 30, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted August 30, 2015 Yep, there is another batch of fry. And this time, since I am keeping these guys indoors, I am hoping they will be fine. Right now they are in the 20 gallon that they were spawned in, but as soon as all fry are free-swimming and a bit bigger, I will be moving them to a 10 gallon so I can use the 20 for one of my adult fish. The parents of this batch are Sencha and Koicha, and they were spawned the 26th of August. I left the eggs and went on vacation, not expecting anything, and came home to a small bunch of fry. (Haven't counted yet) Right now, until I have enough money for fry food (was not expecting babies, and I have no money at all right now. Can't even go to McDonald's!) they will be enjoying a variety of powdered foods and some crushed NLS Thera+A.

I got a generous offer to have a container of Spawn & Grow sent, so they will be getting good no-guesswork food very soon.

Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted August 31, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 31, 2015 Somewhere around 100 of them. Maybe more, maybe less. They're hard to count at this age.
Regular Member Shahbazin Posted August 31, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted August 31, 2015 Congrats on your new fry! Gosh, fry are so tiny - it's hard to believe they turn into such big fish, you kind of expect them to start out looking more like tadpoles or something.

Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 9, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 9, 2015 Yesterday I found out that I have one single-tailed fry. It's one of the largest, and I am hoping that maybe he will be comet-style, since the dad has the long-fin gene. I am super excited.

Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted September 12, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 12, 2015 I did a head-count and tank cleaning today and I have 94 fry. They're growing super quickly because of the Repashy, and soon they will be able to have FBW along with it.
