My Pond Gang (Pic heavy)

Recommended Posts

The guys are still pretty small but growing fast as well! These are Cali and Tigers Babies. They are 9 months old now so a lot smaller than they should be but I learned a lot while raising them and now what to do differently next time. Right now though I love their colours and markings that some of them have, and my little weird looking guy, Spock is still my favourite. Hoping they will have a growth spurt when the weather warms up. I gave the pond a good clean today so took them out while I was using the python to get the debris off the bottom, so snapped these while they were in the little tank. They are only taken from my phone because my camera needs charging but I hope you enjoy!

Very nice looking young fish! I especially like the sort of black & orange calico one, & the one with the black lips. :)

Thanks guys :D I can't wait to see them grow more and if I ever get the chance to have fry again I'll definitely be changing a lot of things, but it's been so much fun watching these guys grow :)

I think the site's band "The StrayFish" has a new drummer!

Thanks everyone :D Its really fun watching them develop their colours. Wonder if Rusty, Copper and Spock will develop any new colours or if they are going to stay that brown colour lol

I had a commen in my pond that was the bronze "wild colour" for about 6 months.

It then began to darken until it was jet black it stayed that way for approx 12months.

It then turned orange and is now orange with white.

It was about 4" long before it "coloured".

So anything can happen i say.

Also depends greatly on food too. Some foods are loaded with colouring agents and hormones.

Either way its great fun watching them to see how they turn out! And in the meantime the bronze colour is nice!
