Help! Syphon accident!

Hi,

So this morning I did my water change. The one day I don't use a cover this happened!! I have learnt my lesson :( I don't think I have ever moved so fast in my life! I feel so bad. :(

One of my butterflies got stuck bottom end on the Syphon. I acted as quick as I could. I managed to free her. I noticed blood coming from the area. At a close look, it looks like it was coming from her peduncle. The bleeding stopped after a minute and she seems to be acting ok. Obviously not as active as before but I'm not sure if it's just shock. Her swimming movements look fine. No sign of anything being broken. I'm just really worried it has done internal damage.

I have put her in a Qt so she can rest on her own and recover. I'm going to keep the water really clean. So another reason I put her in Qt because it's a lot easier to do water changes so frequently.

Have I done the right thing?

Thanks guys

Post some pics and a vid sometime today.  If she's looking and swimming fine, she might have just gotten a shock.  I would have done the same as you with QT and clean water. :)

I'm glad that it wasn't more serious.  Many of us have been there, so don't be too hard on yourself.
