Satsuma

This is Satsuma. I bought her in a moment of weakness early in the Summer at the local WalMart. She spent the rest of the Summer in the swimming pool that I use for a pond. I just caught her about a month ago and moved her to an aquarium. She rewarded me by dropping eggs into the net that I was moving her in!

And a bonus shot of one side of my "fish room".

That's it. Let me know what you guys think about Satsuma.

Thanks. She's round and bright orange, I thought Satsuma seemed appropriate.  :)

Neat fish room (wish I had one) and beautiful fish.  I somehow missed what happened with all the fry you had in the pool from last year.  What happened to them?  Any recent pics?

Last year's breeding season was a big learning experience for me. It was the first time in all the years that I've kept goldfish that I actively tried to breed them and raise the babies. I kind of assumed that at some point I would make a rookie mistake and kill a bunch (or all) of them so I kept WAY too many. Hundreds. That was a big mistake. They all made it. So, I'm still trying to give away goldfish from last year. There were some nice fish from the spawn but because I kept so many, most aren't very big for being a year old. That's why this year I've only got about forty that I'm raising and I might cull that down some soon.

I'll post a few pics of some of the nicer fish from last year's spawn soon.

She's beautiful and love her bright color.

Are those your fry on your table in the plastic containers?  I saw your other thread with close-ups of them.  Adorable.  Congrats again.

The plastic tubs are where the majority of the fry are at but there are some in the two small aquariums on the table too. I split them up so there wouldn't be so much competition for food. It's working, they are growing really fast!
