Regular Member Jim_D Posted April 20, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2015 Just out of interest how many Hikari Lionhead sinking mini pellets would you think a 2" goldfish (not measuring it's tailfin) would need at one feeding?
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted April 20, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2015 A good way to test this without having to weigh the fish would be to drop in pellets one at a time until the fish has a mouthful and is chewing, without there being any pellets left on the floor of the tank. That is how many they need per feeding.
Regular Member shakaho Posted April 20, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2015 Agreed. This assumes you are feeding more than once a day. Is this a long or short bodied fish? A 2" s.l. long-bodied fish is just a baby while a 2" sl fancy is likely more mature, and about twice as large.
Regular Member lizam Posted May 3, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted May 3, 2015 That was really helpful I was wondering how much to feed my little oranda. She's only 2 inches (tailfin included).
