Hi Everyone,

It's been awhile since I've been on due to a lot of this and that and working on my tropical tank that I had started toward the end of December 2014.  Hope you and your fish are all doing good.

I'd like to share some current photo's of Dexter along with my other two fish.  Forgive the tank not looking it's best for I've been treating it with prazi and salt.  I need to get in the back of the tank and wipe down the salt now that treatments are just about over with.  I've been wiping it down but it just likes to come back.

Dexter is my Blue Oranda that looked like this 18 months ago when he came to me from Raingarden at 6 inches total.

Here is Dexter now with his changes at over 8 inches total with close to half of it being his long tail.

Here's Captain.  He started bottom sitting a bit more than usual again and his fins were looking bad again.  So I'm just finishing up 4 rounds of prazi and salt now.  He's looking so much better now and is swimming a bit more now.  I'm not 100% happy with him for he's always making me worry about him and his health.

Captain will be with us for 3 years in a couple more months originally from Petco.  He was just a little guy at 1 1/2 inches in total length and now he's a bit over 7 inches.

You can see some of the tail issues in this photo.  But he is better than before the prazi and salt treatments.

And lastly, Jersey Boy at probably 6 inches total by now from ECR.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, amazing color change! He's beautiful. The others are too. :)

Thank you.  It's been fun to watch him change over the past many months or so, even though I had bought him for wanting a Blue Oranda.

Jared:  I don't know why I was calling your Oranda a He. :(

She is gorgeous.  Thanks for showing me her. :)   It's funny how a lot of our Blue Oranda's on Koko's  are turning colors on us.  How big and old is yours?  Dexter will be 3 years old at the end of April.  His wen is still growing crazy.

I should have posted these photo's at top of thread also.

A couple of months ago I was getting a little concerned about Dexter and worried about him because of his wen (see photo's below)  I was hoping it was just wen growth and not some sort of cyst for that spot was red.  I just waited it out by keeping his tank clean with w/c every 4 days.  It turned out to be his wen growing a lot.  He has wen growth right above his eyes and way down on his side profile now.  He has some height to his wen. :)

Wen growth does happen past the age of three.

Maybe a couple of weeks after that above photo.

And then you see what Dexter looks like now from my photo's above at beginning of thread. :)

Cheryl, Giniro is 3 also and currently packed with eggs  :yikes

Is she going to be Okay?  Packed as in, not releasing them?

Yes, she's been holding them for a while, now.  I just moved her into a private tank with Mikado.  Hopefully he will help her release the eggs  :ehh

I hope it doesn't take long for her to release them.

Jared, a fish daddy. :)  You haven't been one yet, have you??  I hope your fish will be okay.

No, I haven't and actually don't want fry.  I just want her to be okay :)
