Regular Member 4prettyfish Posted March 3, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Your tank is beautiful. I remember seeing your thread when you first purchased that huge piece of branch but don't recall seeing it in your tank all set up. Thanks for showing me. I might steal your idea of how you have a curtain to hide your supplies. It looks so tidy and neat. In my daughters armoire years ago when she was a toddler I had rigged up an extra pole to accommodate all her clothes. I never thought of doing something like this under a fish stand. Yours looks awesome. Added: This was a do-it-yourself project, right? Edited March 3, 2015 by 4prettyfish

Yours looks awesome. Added: This was a do-it-yourself project, right? Yes!! And it was so simple! I measured the area I wanted covered and went to Walmart and got a fabric. I got more than I needed just in case while I was there I grabbed these little things: No idea what they are called and I also got these simple hooks: And a pretty spring loaded pole to hang it on: When I first got the stand there was a shelf here but I had to use the space for my FX5 so now it's extra storage:

Regular Member 4prettyfish Posted March 3, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 3, 2015 I love it Mel. Thanks for the curtain photo's. How did you get those silver ring things into the fabric? You didn't use a sewing machine did you? Did you have to cut a hole in your fabric or did you have to push those ring things through and they did that completed look? I'm sure if I went to Michaels or JoAnns they would be able to help me/answer also. It really does look great. I have a big squishy black round laundry basket that holds a lot of my fish stuff that is under my stand.

Regular Member Mernany Posted March 3, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 3, 2015 Eeeee! Congrats! Hehe Thanks girly!! What jerk talked you into doing this? Eh just three jerks named HomerJay, Lisbug, and MK.... ya know I love it Mel. I just cut a little slit in the fabric and punched it through. Then I think the top part either hammers down or there was a little tool. I don't remember aha Ooh, babies are so much fun! Post lots of pictures! Oh I will do tons if they hatch heh

Regular Member Mernany Posted March 3, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 3, 2015 No changes today. I don't see any fuzzy eggs yet but I'm keeping my eye out. I got four liter bottles and I had my LPS order some ridged air tubing so I can make a BBS hatchery when the time comes I also got a little heater put in there. So now the tub is set up with about 2" of water, a that has the water at about 74*, a thermometer, and a anubia on a rock that is covered in algae. Exciting, Mel. I see little eyes You think so?? I was trying to figure out if it was eyes or just algae that is stuck to the outside Exactly what I was going to ask -- who are the mom and dad??? Oops I totally forgot! The parents are most likely Baby and Basil (first two in my siggy) although my little orange ranchu, Ginger, was doing a little chasing too. Cool! I hope you get some amazing tails! Me too!! If I get any of them with tails like mama I might keep one but who knows Weeee! Congrats! Hehe thank you!
