Regular Member stech Posted March 1, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Would the current from two AC 110 (low low setting) too strong or stress 3 to 4 inch Ranchus in a 90 Gallon tank (48x18x24 high) thank? Or should I get canister instead? Ranchu prefer low current tanks? Edited March 1, 2015 by stech
Regular Member Chai Posted March 1, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) Ranchu are not weak fish by any means. They do not swim as well as a comet, but they hold their own just fine. Two AC 110s will be okay. If you need to, you can slow down the flow. Here is a tank with someone's very beautiful chus (it looks to be mid water change, maybe?). They're a bit of funky swimmers, but flow won't affect them too much. Regular Member fantailfan1 Posted March 1, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2015 I have 2 AC 110s on my 75 with 2 chus in the tank and they do just fine with the current.
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted March 1, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2015 The current may actually help to strengthen them. I know I like my chus with a good, strong peduncle and that is achieved with swimming.
Regular Member yafashelli Posted March 1, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 1, 2015 I have to 110's on my 40 gallon breeder, and I've raised fry in there.
Regular Member shibedino Posted March 12, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted March 12, 2015 I have 2 AC 110s on my 75 with 2 chus in the tank and they do just fine with the current. How do you like the AC 110? I was thinking of getting one to supplement my Fluval 406 canister...
