Regular Member EvilVegan Posted January 13, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted January 13, 2015 Will Golds destroy plants that float on the surface? Mini-floating lily pads? Hyacinths? Water Lettuce? So far the only thing I've been able to keep alive is Anubias, but I thought these might hold out.
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted January 13, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted January 13, 2015 They have a potential to destroy anything. Mine leave dwarf lilies and lotus alone as long as they are fed. Unless you have lots of light for water lettuce to get huge and develop extensive roots, then they run a risk of eating all the roots from them.

Regular Member yafashelli Posted January 14, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted January 14, 2015 I grew tons of floating plants, but kept them in a net. The fish like to munch on anything that gets loose.
