High Nitrates in my well Water

Goldfish # 1 has the missing portion of his top rear fin, he is in the worst shape of the two as he also has the wound on his tail. Also has red in the tailGoldfish #2 is having redness on his tail. Neither fish have had interest in eating as of late. My API water test:High range Ph 8.2Ammonia .25Nitrites 0Nitrates 40-80  ppm 

Please help

Sorry to hear your fish aren't doing really well. I'm going to move this to the diagnosis and disease section of the forum and post a form I'd like you to fill out as thoroughly as you can. Pics or a video would also be very helpful. You will need to use a photo hosting website such as photobucket to upload pics to the site.

      • * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops?
      • * Water temperature?
      • * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running?
      • * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)?
      • * How often do you change the water and how much?
  • * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change?
  • * How many fish in the tank and their size?
  • * What kind of water additives or conditioners?
  • * What do you feed your fish and how often?
  • * Any new fish added to the tank?
  • * Any medications added to the tank?
  • * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment.
  • * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus?
  • * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.?
