Acrylic Sheet for Underneath Light Fixture

I have the Finnex Planted Plus LED. I just upgraded to a 40g breeder tank. I want to cut the PAR a bit since the height of the 40g is less than the my previous tank (29g). What thickness should the acrylic sheet be? Options are 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 inches. Also, I'm thinking of getting the sheet to be about 5 inches wide. The light fixture is about 3 inches wide. What do you think?

Acrylic over time bows. So I would be really careful using it to support something

Thanks for this. The acrylic piece won't be supporting anything. The finnex won't lay on it at all. I can consult with the fabricator to make sure that the piece won't bow given the length. They may suggest polycarbonate instead of acrylic.

If I'm not mistaken, the acrylic will not be supporting the fixture. The fixture rests on the rim of the tank :)

EDIT: Sniped by Lisa!
