Regular Member dnalex Posted June 25, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted June 25, 2014 Recently, I converted the bachelor pad into a beach resort for Hyperion and his friends. Since it's been a while since I've updated, I thought I would take the opportunity to share some pics. I am happy to report that everyone continues to do extremely well. The transition from gravel to sand went off without a hitch, and everyone is loving their new home. I've started to scale back on the amount of food that they get, since I would like to really put the brakes on growth. Here is their home. It's a 55 gallon, with Petco sand, as well as anubias, many many stalks of lucky bamboo, and 2 mangroves (thanks, Sean!). This is Othello. He is my oldest fish since I came back to keeping goldfish. He should be nearing 6 years old soon, if not already. I've had him since he was all of an inch long. This is Hyperion. He's the next oldest (2.5?). He started life as a tricolor, and decided that he likes being red/white much better. Hyperion, as did all the others, came to me when he was a wee juvenile. He had a growth spurt, but lately has really slowed down, growth-wise. I suspect this has to do with being somewhat sight-impaired. It works out well though, since he's pretty big already. Hyperion can from a local store. This is Boss Tammy. He's my largest fish (can you guess his weight?). He came from DO as a small fish, and has done the most, and fastest, growing of any fish I've ever had. He's quite majestic, and round! This is MagiKarp, the youngest of the bunch. I'm guessing he's about 1.5 years old. He came from Petco. His wen has grown a ridiculous amount, and for that I am ecstatic! Thank you so much for looking!
