Trouble in Paradise! Help Quinn!

Recommended Posts

So, 2 days ago I noticed a white pimple on Quinns wen and did an 80% wc. I easily wiped away the upper surface part. Late last night I notice a white spot on his tail and red streaking of his tail and reddened vent :(

His behavior is unchanged and Quinn is eating like a champ and swimming just like normal. I took a video, but I'm at work right now and am having internet trouble with my phone.

I'm gonna go find the form to post on cuz I checked the params of the water while I'm at work :o (multitasking)

Please Help!!!!

Aubrey, I would put him in a QT of clean water and wait for instructs. What do you have in terms of meds? A close-up of the vent would be helpful.

tap. ph-8.8 nitrate-0 nitrite-0 ammonia.75

tank. ph8.1 nitrate-0 nitrate-0 ammonia-0

filters- 2 AC, 110 and 70 with some live plants.

occupants are 2 medium sized GF and some snails(about 6)

only chemical added is prime and last treated for flukes and salt x1 dose about 3 wks ago

my 2 fish have been spawning nearly every night for about 6 wks :o

Foods- hikari purple bag, FBW, FBS, progold, omega one GF 1mm, repashy gel, lettuce hikari algae waffers. These foods are rotated all the time. Fish are fed 2-5x/day

water changes are every 5-7 days and I usually do 80%

I'm going to try to keep posting the video. If I left anything out, please ask :)

I can't use tapatalk at work. :tantrum So I can't down load the video. :(

I have kanaplex and triple sulfa and can run to the pet store. I also have some unusual stuff that Cynthia gave me, BUT its a year old now :idont. I'll look in my fishy medicine chest when I get home and give you a more comprehensive list.

Do you think this is flukes or bacterial?

Sounds like you have all that is needed, if you need something. Cynthia's meds should last for at least another year, I think. :)

Helen and I also have the mysterious yellow powder. :rofl

Anyway, his activity level is really good. Is there anyway you can try to take pics of the problem spots? Don't be alarmed.

Boss Lisa had a reddish vent for a few days a few months ago, but it went away on its own without any sort of treatments. :)

I think he is quick to redden :idont I'm not sure you remember(you're a busy guy after all) but when first got him in November and he was in QT he had this same issue... Red streaking caudal fin and red vent. He was on MM at that time.

Do you want another vid or still pics cuz you know I'm the worlds worst photographer :o

Still pics would be better. You may have to hold him, and have someone take pics.

How long ago was he on MMs?

Is the vent itself red, or the area around it? Also, I meant to ask how long ago was his MMs round of treatment. :)
