Regular Member TikiLola Posted April 17, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 17, 2014 Would it hurt them? I wanted to wait until it was cycled, but I can get a deal on the ones I want but only if I order them by tomorrow. Of course, if I kill them during cycling, it would be wasting the $ anyway.
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted April 17, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 17, 2014 I wouldn't if you are using the pure ammonia method. Not really something I'd risk, but others might say otherwise. So wait for more responses.
Regular Member Daniel Posted April 17, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 17, 2014 Ammonia itself is fine, it shouldn't reach levels in a tank capable of harming plants. Pure ammonia, however, will more than likely kill plants if poured directly onto them.
Regular Member TikiLola Posted April 18, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 18, 2014 I don't plan on pouring it directly on them. Can it be mixed with water before I put it in the tank? Or, maybe pour it in a corner away from the plants?

Regular Member dnalex Posted April 18, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 18, 2014 I actually think it's a good idea to have plants in there, and not any particular reason for not doing it.
Regular Member yafashelli Posted April 18, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted April 18, 2014 Many of us have cycled a tank with plants. It's perfectly fine!
