Im looking into purchasing a microscope for view scrapes for when my fish are ill.

Im interested in knowing what the least amt of magnification is that is needed to view all the little nasties that i might encounter.

Knowing this may help me figure out what i want to buy.

They have some cool iphone microscopes but i see they only go up to 100X.....

4x is good for flukes and worms.. but they are considered relatively large parasites to view... so you're better off aiming for the least being 10x.

i say this because symptoms of flukes and worms is well known.. we can treat for them with mild treatments without the need of visually detecting them.. so, what we need to aim for is a better magnification for all the other things we may not suspect could be the problem.

Well I ordered a iPhone microscope, 18.00 total for it. Says it does 60-100x so we will see! I'll just get some slides and we will see what kind of pics I can get and post them here!
