We are talking about the 55 gal. Last wc was 4/2/14. Beatrice has white thickened area on her tail on right side. And mark on right gill plate. Occasionally yawns. Appetite good.

Can't find form.

I have 2 aquaclear filters... 70 and 110 on this tank.

Water parameters:

Tank. Tap

PH 7.8. 8.4

Nitrite 0. 0

Nitrate 0-5 0

Ammonia 0.25. 0.75 the only time I hate seeing green :cry

With my wc on 4/2 I added 300 grams of salt and prazi. The last prazi was when I added Quinn to the 55g in December.

Be patient and I'm going to download a video so you can see her spots.

I also just added a capful of prime

Here is a video. I hope you can see what I'm talking about.

Please advice. Constructive criticism appreciated :o

She is a wiggly little worm. :teehee

The mark on her gill plate and area on her tail have just shown up overnight?

The ammonia in your tap is new? It's not ideal but as you know Prime will detoxify 1 ppm. Your BBS will kick into gear and be able to process that within 24 hours if it stays like that from now on. :D

:rofl she was wiggling like that because I was so close to the tank :) it was her feed me now dance :Jig:

Gill mark I just noticed yesterday :( but I removed everything out of the tank when I added prazi and salt so I didn't kill the plants and snails :idont

The tail mark has been there in a way milder more miner form for maybe 5 months, but in the last week or so I've noticed it growing in size and her tail in that area in a bit thicker. Does that make sense?

Edit: I rarely check parameters. I think I get ammonia spikes in tap in spring.

Just do a single dose daily of Prime until your cycle handles the new ammonia. Shouldn't be too bad at all. :)

Ok. Do think I need to redose prazi with next wc on Tuesday?

Hope it's nothing. :hug

I love her stripey tail! :heart

Thanks :)

How long do you think I need to keep the salt and prazi in the water? :hmm

It's been in since 4/2

I ask because I want to add my plants back when Molly is here so it looks prettier :hide:

Prazi is only active for 4 days. She comes on Tuesday, yes? I'd leave the tank until Monday or Tuesday (if you have time for a WC on Tuesday before she gets there) then do a large WC to remove the salt. The prazi will already be inactive. :D

:nana do you think only one treatment is ok? I can totally do a wc on Tuesday. That would be super! :Jig:

BTW- yes she will get here Tuesday afternoon :happydance

How long will Molly be there? You can always start the next round when she leaves. :rofl3

I think she leaves on Saturday or Sunday :idont

How many rounds do you think I should do? What's the right gramage of salt for the 55 gal? Thanks for the help :hug

Not sure on the number of rounds. We'll see how she looks after another round. :D

208 g of salt will bring a 55 gallon to 0.1% IF you are using aquarium salt. If you are using canning/pickling salt use 156 g. :D
