This is my lavender ranchu breeder pair. The female is the bigger and better of the two. Possible bonus photos of their other ranchu buddies :)

Awwww, so cute! I notice you are in the Seattle/Portland area. I live in Seattle. If, in the future, you are interested in selling any of your babies from your Ranchu pair, I would be most interested!

They're all gorgeous! Good luck! :D I really hope you will keep us updated if they do spawn. I'm curious how their colors would develop. :)

They should...dad was the major contributor last year - I got her too late in the season but she is big and healthy. I can't imagine her not throwing great eggs this season.

The Aquarium Coop in Edmonds, Washington maybe interested in baby ranchus in the future. I told them about you and your interest in breeding ranchus. They were certainly interested. They recently bought some ranchus from a wholesaler from another country. They said it was a funky situation--lights were low so they couldn't really see the ranchus they were buying. They bought some beautiful ranchus but a couple are blind. While the ranchus are beautiful, they look like they were bulked up for selling. I can imagine the strain on their bodies of being fed so intensely. Anyway, this LFS would prefer to buy from a local breeder who more mindfully raises their fish. Maybe you!

That was really nice of you! I will contact them when I have fish ready. I have mostly given or sold them to other hobbyists here and a few to Portland stores. I have family in Edmond as well.

How is that lfs? I've never been there.

It is a great place. They are more knowledgeable about freshwater non goldfish fish, but they really care and the place is clean. Their fish look healthy although I've seen some sick fish but very few. They do have a quarantine room. You can look at their website. It is quite a popular place for local freshwater fish enthusiasts.
