Extremely long white ish clear poop

Recommended Posts

I just got 2 ryukins - 4 days ago. One is a Female very large red / white broad tail and the other is a Male medium white long tail. They've been in QT and I've been doing 100% water changes daily with prime - 2 air stones and a faux plant for them to hide behind. They've been spawning and she laid eggs the last two days - nothing today. I don't see her eat much but if I turn off the lights and walk away I saw her eat a little - the white medium I've seen eat often.

During today's WC there were 2 LONG white and clear poops...... real long - coiled up. I haven't seen any brown poop yet....

I tried Hikari pellets, frozen bloodworms, and repashy soilent green.

Thoughts?

Are they behaving normally? Any bottom sitting or other symptoms of infection?

def bottom sitting - not so much the male - large female is.

But they were shipped to me and she laid eggs - so could it be stress? She seems to be afraid of light and me*

I read it could be stress, internal parasites, empty stomach from not eating, or reabsorbtion from laying eggs (or something like that) I'm praying it's not parasites or infection - Her dorsal fin is straight up, not heavy breathing, but she is sitting most of the time and wont move if the light is on or if my huge face is staring at her.....ha

This is just my QT ..... I've only had them 4 days. I do 100% water changes every day and add prime. It's not my reg tank. Its a sterilite 27 gallon tub with 2 air stones.

I think it's probably a combination of shipping stress, resorbing eggs and the fact that she hasn't eaten a lot since you've gotten her. Try the blood worms again, soak them in garlic juice if you can. GF don't need a light so if it seems to stress her out more just leave it off.

Maybe you could get a video of her behavior. Also some pics of her from above . . . . :)
