Aye Aye captain. Will do.

I had a plastic top. But I took it off in order to add some clamp on ranks and because I like seeing the fish from above. They have started nipping my fingers and eating from my hand.

I might try the shower caddy thing. But then there is no water flow. And do I need to put substrate in?

Can you put a shower basket in your tank? Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/InterDesign-Suction-Shower-Basket-Clear/dp/B000KKN0TS/ref=pd_sim_hg_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=0SP3ZC8T8FXDEH69AR2F

Edit: posted at same time. No substrate needed in basket.

Sou ds like what I'm looking for. Do I put it in water side? Or dry side with roots overhanging?

Put the caddy/basket in the water side so that it is submersed. Roots in the caddy/basket with vine and leaves above the water level. Some vine in water is fine of course. If I find a pic I'll post it here.

Here a picture: http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php?/topic/95321-the-amazing-pothos/

It will take awhile for this type of nitrate filter to work. With the nitrate levels you have in your tap you may need to get aggressive, meaning a more extensive plant nitrate filter system. You can look these up on youtube. I seem to remember someone on kokos having an extensive lucky bamboo nitrate filter. If I find it I'll post the link.
