Tank Mate!

Recommended Posts

I went to a fish store I had never been today (Pisces Pet Emporium) and when I saw this guy sitting there I couldn't resist not getting him. He was such a steal too!! Only $9! I have been looking for this exact fish and I can't believe I found one at such a great deal. DSCN1384.jpg

I decided to name him Michael. He was in a tank with other single tailed and I believe he is a bristol shubunkin. He is a male since he has breeding stars on both his front fins and on his gill plates. Seeing this made me know for sure my other fish is female which is why I changed the name from Sucre to Sara. If anyone is familiar with the show Prison Break you will be familiar with the names Michael and Sara. I can upload a video if anyone is interested.

I haven't been able to officially measure him yet but I'm guessing about 8 inches. He will be going into my 75

He's a stunning fish, and I wish you all the best, for a boring QT period. :)

Yes a boring QT period is a good one. The employee who bagged the fish for me said he has been with them for a few months. No idea how someone didn't snatch him sooner!

Nice catch, but I believe there is a rule against posting a picture of a Bristol without showing the beautiful tail. :)

Thanks everyone he is certainly very handsome. I have a few more pics of him. I want to call him a bristol, but his tail is more of a mix between the bristol and Japanese type. Not as round as some others I've seen. Very beautiful nonetheless

Idk what it is but after having him for a day his orange colouring seems to have somehow brightened up. Still can't believe I paid only $9 for him. I was also able to measure him today and from mouth to the tip of his tail is just shy of 9 in.
