My Christmas gift to the babies was a tub clean and a round of Prazi. I'm sure they appreciated it. ;)

This is the self same container that I took their first photo in. Look how much they've grown!!!

Well the fry and now 1 month, 5 days old. I have about half of what I started with. I've been losing about half a dozen a day to an unknown reason, although I think it's got a lot to do with the larger fry chomping off the tails of the smaller ones...

Here they are:

I was advised to cull the smaller ones, but I couldn't do it. The larger ones are doing it for me.

Ooooh they're getting big!

I have to admit that the word cull wasn't in my vocabulary either. But you don't need 100 goldfish - although it sounds like the Koko's gang would be more than happy to take a few off your hands.....

...nature is taking its course, apparently.

Best of luck with the young 'uns.

Its survival of the fittest (or biggest) unfortunately.

I had hundreds of fry and end up with so few. ..

Things might be different for me next season, now I have my rake setup.

Hopefully yours turn out nice n fat and well developed.

WOW! They have grown so much! What are you feeding them these days?

I'm feeding them Repashy Spawn & Grow. Soon I will start them on bloodworms too, they're just a little too small.

Thanks! Love learning from your experience!

So... I performed my version of a cull. I collected the smaller fish and let them go in a local pond. lol - I couldn't bring myself to kill them. This way, at least they have a fighting chance.

Here is a photo of the remaining fry.

I think I'll perform another 'cull' next week. I wasn't very harsh this time.

Hello!

They are doing very well. Proper little fish in their own right.

I had to euthanize their mother die to swim bladder disease, so they are even more special to me. I'm hoping one will look like her. ❤
