blackmoors 359 Posted October 14, 2014 Finally found this old thread. I was bored while waiting for the sales guy to arrive and give me the measure and quote for my new door Finally I will have a door (instead of a window that allows me to access the side of my house where my grow ponds are. Been slow progress but it's starting to come around again. I'm also measuring up a storage area and small wet area/sink. So I can't wait.

blackmoors 359 Posted December 1, 2014 Delay on sashless window had to board it up. Door glass is due in 30 mins... Sorry I didn't see your post 4 pretty. Thanks I'm doing OK. Recovering from surgery well. The new door has improved my spirits too
blackmoors 359 Posted December 2, 2014 Got the sashless window done and the fly screen. Door glass is also in. Made a huge difference in lighting in the room having the new door (compared to the old window) And should make water changes and access to ponds much easier. Next job will be finishing up the inside opening for the door and probably a step. Might even look into a grab rail/handle along side the step and door.
ichthius 122 Posted December 2, 2014 Did you figure out a plan for air exchange/ humidity control? Heat recovery air exchangers are great.
blackmoors 359 Posted December 2, 2014 No not as yet. Unfortunately every air conditioning company and any other place I've called here in Australia has never heard of such a thing...... I've seen some online but they're all overseas.
DieselPlower 2,123 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) I did not read any of the posts but have you considered putting a drain in the floor and running it outside to be collected for plants etc? Nevermind. I'm dumb. Edited December 3, 2014 by DieselPlower
blackmoors 359 Posted December 3, 2014 Hey Diesel. Yeah I was considering a drain in the floor. But we may put one outside the room just near the door instead. (Just incase I decide to ever sell my house I don't need to explain the drain haha) Hoping to have an outside hose tap put in near the door soon. So that will hopefully make water changes and cleaning a tad easier. By all means people any ideas post them up. Wacky, crazy, expensive, cheap what ever I'm happy to look at them and who knows it may just give me the ideas I need to get it perfect (for me anyway lol).
chocky 15 Posted December 3, 2014 No not as yet. Unfortunately every air conditioning company and any other place I've called here in Australia has never heard of such a thing...... I've seen some online but they're all overseas. Can u install those whirley birds?Or else u can get a dehumidifier?
blackmoors 359 Posted December 4, 2014 I've got 2 whirly birds on the roof already. But they only do the roof space etc. I'm currently looking at air washers etc but unsure still. I'd love to get a fresh air heat exchange unit that I've seen used overseas but still to date have not seen any here.
blackmoors 359 Posted December 15, 2014 New additions to the fish room. (Still need to find its proper spot but temporary set up for now due to shortage of tanks) 2 - 2ft X 2ft X 1ft tanks. Ideal for fry. Both have bottom drains so water changes will be a bit easier hopefully.
