Congrats on your success! They look so cute:)

Thanks. Yeah they are becoming social too coming up to me when I approach tank.

I'm thinking of building a small pond on my balcony for them.

Ooooh, balcony pond would rock! How are you planning to build? Are you keeping all of them?

Build with cedar sides as a trough lined with pond liner and a bio filter.

I'm planning on keeping 3-4 of them

I meant bog filter

Yeah wouldn't have to worry about icing over, but would be concern too warm during summer. Hopefully evaporation will help cool water

Heya! Just wanted to check in and see what the good word is:)

Anymore losses? I am down to 2 fry from 23 lol. These guys look good though and I'm doing 6 rounds of Prazi this time, just because I'm paranoid lol.

Hey. I'm still with the six. Two are still very tiny. But they all are active and healthy. I'm planning on doing prazipro again in another month when I do my main tank.

I have seen more eggs. Saw eggs with small fry wiggling inside but didn't have a place for them.

On Sunday I was looking in my tank and OMG a small fry swam by. I was surprised he was eaten. But I lost sight of it and couldn't find it again. I was gonna rescue.

He made it to free swimming in the main tank? Geez, what a superhero:)

Glad to hear all 6 are still around. That pond of yours is going to rock!

Great idea on the Prazi. I may just do the same...

Oh wow. Look at them! Nice and active. Looks like you've got the magic touch:)

I can't help but think how great it would have been to see Gary get that big:)

What have you got them eating at this point? That tank is spotless.

Thanks. Yeah they really dart very fast.

Odd thing is noticed one of the tiny ones went missing. Looked all over for it. I can only assume the bigger ones ate it :(

The other smaller one is starting to develop.

I'm still feeding BBS and the first bites. I'll also put a small cube of rasphasy into the tank occasionally.

The ammonia and nitrite are sky-high now. I dose daily with Prime.

I can imagine what those test reslts are looking like. :/ Thank god for Prime!

As if they ate the little guy. lol I never would have thought that could happen. Crazy. I've been doing a lot of research since my batches suck so much and from what I've read, those little guys usually catch up in terms of growth and development, which is great. I am so happy for you that you have had such a great success. Even with your snowboarding trip thrown in there lol. *jealous* :thumbup2:

Well I think part of the "luck" is that mine are single-tails so much hardier than the fancies.

I was going to get a bigger tank at Petco until I build the pond, but $ sale ended yesterday. Ugh!!!

We don't get a dollar sale anywhere in Canada. I always buy used tanks. I have a 100 gallon 6 foot long tank coming in Wednesday, crazy excited!

We also can't get huge tanks at places like Petsmart, you have to go to the aquarium store and special order it, lots of bucks.
