What are these?

Hi, all. Just got home today and noticed these in my tank for the first time. What the heck are they??? They appear to ONLY have stuck to the wood in the tank, and do not seem to be moving/alive. My guess is eggs...but from what? I have apple snails and one nerite. And, of course, the goldies.

Any help appreciated! :)

They look like nerite eggs to me. :D

I just read you said they are moving. Eggs wouldn't move . . .

Weird! My nerite is alone...could they just be unfertilized? & I said they WEREN'T moving lol....freaked me out at first!

Nerite swill lay eggs but they are not hermaphrodites so one snail cannot produce viable eggs. Also they usually only hatch in brackish water. There will be many more. Feel free to connect the dots. :)

Guess I need to read things 3 times. :rofl

Like Dan said, they won't hatch. I've heard that nerites lay more eggs when they are well fed and less when food is not as plentiful. :idont. They are annoying but the eggs won't harm anything. :)

Well, I guess that means Sue (as I've affectionately dubbed her) is happy! I have a bunch of apple snails but all the other nerites were sucked out of their shells by the goldies. She has totally claimed the driftwood now that she's the only nerite there.

Thanks for your help! I'll breathe, now.
