New Life Spectrum pellet help

Recommended Posts

NLS is NLS.

While there are some pellets that we don't share across the pond, the majority of the pellets we use are common with each other.

All I know is that New Life Spectrum makes a big point of telling people not to soak, and I can't imagine soaking for 8 hours. If that were the case, I'd just make gel food.

But why are they so hard? Surely soft food is best for fancies?

Surely soft food is best, but soaking extruded food to make it soft is not the way to go.

Having said that, perhaps my fish are mutants, but they do not have issues with eating any of the pellet foods. They have teeth, and these teeth are capable of crunching on a snail shell, so they aren't that fragile.

Try feeding less, but more often, and spread the food all over the tank. Smaller pellet sizes help a lot as well, because they can't eat 50% of their meal in one gulp. :)

Yes, they are. I really like the size of the HL pellets.

Hikari Lionhead pellets are on average 1.5 mm, which is about the perfect size for all goldfish. Going beyond 2mm will court floaty disasters.

I use the 1mm size because it is close in size to the HL

1 mm is a very good size, especially when you have barebottom or sand! :D
