New Plants in the 29!

Recommended Posts

I was kinda bummed about my sudden losses and had a new fish itch. So I went to the store but didn't see any fish that I had to have but a few plants caught my eye ;) I was going to use my tropical tank to grow these out but I had a massive plant die off from a couple dead bulbs. So I decided to give these two a chance to not eat everything :rofl

Thanks! Time will tell. I haven't tried these ones before.

I know. Aren't they the cutest?

I like it, nice job ashlee :)

Thank you :D

I see a shirtless man in the backround with nice abbs XD

I put him on the wall when I was like 12. Then moved back home after college and he is still there :rofl

Well the poo heads managed to uproot half of the new plants :rofl. They are not eating them, just bashing their big bodies into them.

Yay plants!!! looks awesome!! I bought some needleef ludwigia in those packages awhile back. It totally melted away in the transition from emersed to submersed form, but 3 stems survived and are doing really well now.

I actually just bought some pogostemon helfiri (downoi) from petsmart too tonight :P I have two full grown ones I bought off of aquabid that are doing well, so I figured I'd try the petsmart ones since you get so many. It's such a cool plant! I hope they do well for you! I had cyperus helfiri for awhile in my goldfish tank (from PAC) it just never did very well.... kept turning brown and rotting in areas so I ended up chucking it :( I almost bought some at petsmart today too, but decided against it.

I also have staurogyne repens growing in my betta tank right now.... another super cool plant. I am actually thinking about moving some in with the goldfish because I actually think it would be a great groundcover plant for goldies since it has a nice deep root system and the leaves as relatively thick when it is full grown.

plants get me all excited :P please do update us on how these are doing. It's exciting that petsmart is carrying some more interesting plants beyond anubias and java fern!
