East Coast Ranchus and Pearls eating bloodworms

Recommended Posts

New East Coast Ranchus eating some bloodworms with their Pearlscale tank mates. One more week till they are moved to their new, permanent home. The video is a week old, they actually seem to have grown a little since this video, I'll need to weigh them again to see.

I scour every store I know of every few weeks to see what's around. That calico was quarter sized from Tropiquarium on 35 in Ocean. They haven't had pearlscales the past few times I've been since I got him almost a year ago though.

The red/white is from Route 4 Aquarium in Elmwood. Right next to Clifton/Paterson. I think she's stunted though, hasn't seemed to put on much size since I got her, and I only got her 4 months ago. IF you head there, check Absolutely Fish too. Neither have had much in the way of good fish lately. Maybe a nice Ryukin or two. Haven't been to either in a month though.

Ely's Tropical Fish and Water Gardening in Florham Park has or can get anything you want. He had Balloon Pearls a while back, but they are too fat for me so I passed.

I also check Pacific Aquarium NYC on Delancey in Chinatown every so often. They usually have nice fish. And can sometimes fill requests depending on availability.

Then of course there's always Cynthia at East Coast Ranchu. Doubt I'll ever get a Ranchu anywhere else unless it's really eye catching.

Oh, and I'm in Carteret, exit 12 of the Turnpike.
