Regular Member joel08 Posted June 14, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2013 So I have a 47cm water depth so I can buy tall fake plants. Which one should I buy? http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/aquatics/artificial-plants/hugo-kamishi-shinnersia-rivularis-silk-plant-30cm.html http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/aquatics/artificial-plants/hugo-kamishi-amazon-brown-silk-30cm.html http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/aquatics/artificial-plants/hugo-kamishi-hornwort-green-40cm.html your comments are welcome
Regular Member fantailfan1 Posted June 14, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2013 Is the last one silk or plastic? I'd stick with silk. Could you do a mix of the first two or do you want just one type?
Regular Member GoldenSpoiledRotten Posted June 14, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2013 (edited) I think either silk plant would be a good option, but in the end this is your choice. I'd stay away from the fake hornwart because it looks spiky, which can tear fins or cause other injuries. Regular Member joel08 Posted June 14, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2013 Actually the Hornwort was my 1st option because it looks typical goldfish plant. But since its plastic I might have to change my mind. I think i will stick with the one in the first web link.

Regular Member yafashelli Posted June 14, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 14, 2013 I like the first two. Find out the store's return policy, just in case your plant is too pokey. You want to try to stick with soft plants, with smooth edging, as our darlings are very clumsy swimmers. I actually have a bamboo plant, which I love, but it's very pointy, so I stopped using it.

Regular Member shellbell4ever Posted June 15, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 15, 2013 I like the looks of the last link ,but I would suggest silk for a goldfish tank because they are more natural looking and softer on fish fins
Regular Member LauraThe3xplora Posted June 15, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 15, 2013 I have some fake hornwort things and they're not as pokey as they look, but I would stick with silk if you have a telescope or something for sure. Silk is definitely the safer choice, I think, even though I actually have plastic ones
Regular Member 4prettyfish Posted June 15, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted June 15, 2013 I like the second photo plant the best. Silk plants is best. Non pointy plants are best also.
