spillie 63 Posted June 1, 2013 Wow, this inspires me, too! I have an odd, long, narrow 8G tank. It might work as a betta riparium, if not too narrow. I'll have to research, as I have no idea really how to put one together. What are the plants resting on, in the example you gave?
waterfaller1 824 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Thank you! See the riparium supplies pics? Some plants go in the plastic planters, and the trellises stick onto the front. You plant the flowing small plants in the trellises, and the roots go straight into the tank. The best part, no algae worries! Perfect for me, the algae queen! The plants live off the nitrates and waste produced by the fish. Edited June 1, 2013 by waterfaller1

waterfaller1 824 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) Thank you!! I was under the impression that the pump I chose had dual air valves, and today I realized it did not. So headed out and picked up a two-way gang valve. The only components missing, is some estes sand I ordered, the fish of course, and a light. About the light~ I originally bid on a gorgeous vintage gooseneck lamp. I was beat on the auction, as I did not watch it at the end. So settled for one not so pretty. It arrived and it is way too short. So I went to a lamp website and ordered one with a retro look. I will run a 13 wt CFL cool white daylight bulb. I was told the cool whites make the tank look good, not so much red in the spectrum. Edited June 1, 2013 by waterfaller1
