Dexy has been doing well today so far, but I still have her on the MMs for the pineconing. Klaus was bottom sitting all day (until 4 when I had to go out for a dinner) but when I arrived home he was swimming around normally. I just gave him some food, so I'll let you know how that goes :)

Sounds good. May be he was just constipated and was in need of a good poop! :rofl

Wow! Wouldn't that be wonderful if all they had to do was give out a good poop!? I hope they both continue to do better.

I know what you mean! I feel so bad for their poor little digestive systems!

May you wake up in the morning and see them happy as can be, swimming around with no care in the world. :)

So far dexy is still a little pineconey but she's super active today :-). Klaus is doing alright, but now he's floaty instead of bottom sitting

I'd like to give the MMs 24 hours headstart to be out in the tissues and then go in with prazi :)

Sounds good! So, for a plan of action should I leave the two sick fish in the main tank and move the little healthy one into the empty QT while treating the main tank?

Or should I put the two big fish in the 20 gallon QT together..?

Thanks again!

Since you are treating with Prazi, leave the healthy one there, too. Just don't feed him/her medicated food.

Ok sounds good. I did a wc and added the prazi today. Dexy is very active and happy today. Klaus isnt doing as well though :-(. He is refusing food. He's been pooping thev long clear castes and his belly is very hard... I know the last time I gave him mms he became constipated. I'm concerned because it seems to be effecting his swimming ability. He mostly just bottom sits, but he'll move when I get near him. Is there anything I can do for him..?

Try to feed him some peas with Epsom in it. We'll add Epsom to the water it that doesn't work.

Thank you Alex! I fed him a piece of a pea with I little piece of Epson in it. It took me a bit to get him to eat it, but it looks like he ate all of it. He still looks like he's having trouble getting off the ground though

It looks like Klaus is back to bottom sitting and moving only when stirred. Should I try more epson or something else?

Thanks!

Yes, let's add 1/4 teaspoon Epsom per 10 gallons to the water.

Hang in there.

Ok sounds good! Should I go ahead and move him to the QT tank then? I think I read on the forum somewhere that you can't treat with salt if one of the fish in the tank has been dropsied previously (Dexy has had it and she's being treated too).

Ok! So Klaus is officially in his own tank with Epsom. He seems to be doing a bit better already :). His appetite seems to be increasing again.

How long was the Epsom supposed to be in the tank? Was it 8 days..? I don't remember :(

We traditionally limit the exposure time to 8 days. :)

So I had to leave the house for a couple of days to visit my family in town. I left them with my significant other for that time. I get home, and my QT fish now has a red spot on the bottom of his body where he has been bottom sitting :-(. I'm doing a water change now. Do you think he'll be ok? My sf says he hasn't been eating much either
