Regular Member ashlee18 Posted May 10, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 10, 2013 I have been so jealous of all you guys with fry and my fishies finally gave into my wishes...hehe... The mom is for sure Ike, the white oranda with the red spot. And I hope the dad is the big red and white oranda that she shares the picture with. I do however have two male butterflies, two male ryukins and a male ranchu. The two male ryukins were chasing my big calico butterfly girl yesterday. So I think I will begin separating them to get same pairs. They also share the same birthday as Miss Justine I stole Fang's teaspoon idea when transferring them from bucket to bucket for cleaning. And they are eating bbs (baby brine shrimp) in the video with them all together.

Regular Member dnalex Posted May 10, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 10, 2013 That's fantastic, Lori. With your experience with breeding fish and raising fry, they are in great hands! Having said that, don't even talk to me right now. I'm beyond jealous! :rofl

Regular Member ashlee18 Posted May 10, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 10, 2013 Thank you guys They were begging to be fed. Even though they had just been fed 20 minutes earlier. Every minute they don't have food in their mouths, they are starving lol And my dogs are so annoying. Alex, only be jealous if the father is the oranda. If not...I cannot imagine what these guys will look like.

Regular Member ashlee18 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Thank you all! I had this weird bout of dizziness the other day and went to bed early and woke up really late. So the fry went 24 hours on one feeding luckily, I have some live plants in there and I overfed them on the bbs. But the batch of bbs I had hatched had died and I didn't have another one going. I somehow still have frozen bbs and they ate that right up. So they are now on day 6! Edited May 11, 2013 by ashlee18

Regular Member ashlee18 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 19, 2013 Tomorrow I will get an updated video of them at their two week mark but I had to post because I was so excited to see little dorsals forming! They already have the fancy tail and pectoral fins but just a teeny little dorsal ridge. Unfortunately, I doubt the camera will pick up on it.
Regular Member ashlee18 Posted May 21, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) And here is a video of them from last night! I just compared their size to the video in my first post and it floors me! I cannot believe that they grew that much in just two weeks! Ok, just for fun for myself, I added the original video.
