Guest miniabby Posted March 3, 2013 Hello! I was wandering what your opinions on lighting for a planted betta tank were? I have a ten gallon and I'm planning on adding Italian vals, dwarf hairgrass, krypt parva, and flame moss. What lighting should I use? Do I need a carbon dioxide diffuser? Thanks!
Gcourtney 854 Posted March 4, 2013 Honestly for my planted tank I just used the hood that came with it and put a 13watt bulb in it , I have hair grass moss, riccia fluitans. And valls and crypts . Not sure about the diffuser though haven't used on though although the hair grass will do far better with co2
tithra 4,917 Posted March 4, 2013 Medium to high light would be best, given the dwarf hair grass. I have found that dwarf hair grass is generally pretty hardy (when compared to other carpeting plants) and will survive without ideal lighting, but it really needs at least medium light to high light and co2 to really take off and carpet. Do you have a lighting fixture in mind yet?
