dctan12 107 Posted January 7, 2013 Their parents are no ordinary goldfish. They are so called the Thai giant / jumbo goldfish. The seed of the goldfish are not those type of few dollars you brought from the market or LFS. These Thailand goldfish are carefully been selected that carried giant gene which cost few hundred to thousand of dollars that sell in my country. That why the babies are extreme big at this size of age....
ShawneeRiver 2,720 Posted January 7, 2013 Interesting! Do you have the parents? If so, could you post pictures of them, please?
nick11380 34 Posted January 7, 2013 Did you keep track of how fast the goldfish grew and how big they were each week? I did an experiment on goldfish growth a while back and they can grow fast. I would be interested in your grow rate and comparing our results.
motherredcap 6,284 Posted January 7, 2013 Holy Moly! Yes, I would love to see a photo of the parents.
dnalex 13,633 Posted January 7, 2013 Wow! Awesome job, and this series of pics serves as vivid demonstration of how incredibly fast goldfish can grow in just 6 weeks. I think some people never get it, and think that a goldfish while growing, will still stay largely the same size even 9 months down the road.
