Clover & Callisto

Recommended Posts

Your fish are absolutely beautiful. You take awesome photo's of them.

Tithra is right! >> Your fish do remind me of Candy Corn. That is funny.

How long have you had these two fish? And, about how long are they?

Thank you! I've had Clover since April 2011 and he has grown a ton since then! He's about 3.5" in body length, and 7" if you include the tail. I've had Callisto for almost exactly 1 year! She was about 4 years old when I got her, so she is 5 years old now. She's the same size as Clover pretty much.

Gorgeous fish!!

Thanks J&J!

Have they ever shown any breeding behavior? I bet you'd get some wonderful fry! :)

No, they haven't. I know Clover is male, and I now suspect that Callisto is also male. But I've been calling Callisto a "she" for so long that it's too weird to switch, lol. :lol3

I suspect all mine are females yet I refer to one of them as "he". I had a fantail named "Dorothy" who became a father and I never could refer to him as "him". He'd been a "she" in my mind for probably 4 or 5 years. Then one day there were fertilized eggs in my tank and lo and behold, he was the one with breeding stars! :yikes

Too bad that yours are both males. I would love to see their fry! :)

Wow! Seven inches is big compared to my biggest which is about 3 1/2 total. You really do have some beautiful fish. I've seen several of your youtube video's on your fish. They are great.
