How to order a betta from aquabids?

I am trying to order a betta from thailand. I guess my questions are, do I contact the transhipper before or after I place the order? When I get in contact with them, do I let the seller know the schedule the transhipper is going to ship the fish? The seller is BettaAkapes. She has a 310/312 rating. This is all so confusing and the language barrier is also tricky. I hope I can get this figured out before the auction is over or the fish is sold \:

Buy the fish and pay :) the seller will tell you the total and ask who you want the transshipper to be. Most shippers have set prices so it doesn't matter who is closest to you. I personally always use Jennifer. The fish gets sent to her and then she emails you.

Not yet! GreenTea is helping me find better bettas cause she used to breed them (: The only thing is I lost my phone and can't text her back T-T He sure was a pretty one but his back was humped and not desireable. I will let you guys know who I choose! :3

I will! Maybe you guys can help me. I will show you my original love, and the other males that I am considering. I want the 180 halfmoon tail, with as close to a full crescent shape as possible and good branching. These are what I am considering:

This was my first one I was considering:

This guy is my top:

They would be for breeding, not showing. And just breeding for the sake of providing an alternative to internet sales of bettas, petco, or walmart in my area (:

Haha yes, he is a Blue Tiger Dragon. I thought he was gorgeous too! Especially that color! He may even be considered an Orchid (: I made a poll so people can vote and I can take into consideration which one would be best.

Alright, I have it narrowed down. The Poll favorite, Black Copper Tiger:

And new contender, Platinum Blue Dalmation:

Dude! Ugh so annoying!

For breeding tank plants I used one with wide leaves like amazon swords. And java moss. It's like impossible to kill java moss and gives the female great places to hide. I also always placed a mug in there - and used something for the male to root a bubble nest too, usually a petco betta cup lid turned upside down. Some people use foam cups cut in half, others bubble wrap, and some use nothing at all. Experiment and use what works for you.

Like I said, pick some bettas you like! The first time will be a learning experience, and like I said, I would get at least 2 of each gender in case one dies, a pair is not compatible, etc.

To buy the fish, hit buy and he or she will email you afterward. You can ask then if they have a sibling or other female close in coloration that you would like to purchase as well, and if it's possible for you to get a deal on a pair. If you buy two pairs from them, I'm sure they can arrange something. I did lots of research on US trans-shippers and decided to with Jennifer. I highly recommend her. She is the only one consistently reliable IMO.

Here is her website - http://bellsouthpwp.net/J/e/JennViv/LMBTranship.htm

That should answer any and all questions but if you have more, feel free to ask me or her. She is great about getting back to people, and sometimes she sells bettas too (you could avoid thai shipping) under the name Hopdiggity on AB.

Happy shopping! I am so excited for you. I miss breeding betta a lot.

I'll try again eventually.. My heart is so broken from losing my favorite betta after seeing him again on aquabids. ): I should've ordered him sooner <\3 It'll be set up eventually and maybe I will find a more perfect one!

One day I too will raise a betta army....

That sucks! I know the feeling! It took me ages to secure a fish until I finally got araluen, but don't worry, there will be plenty more opportunities and you may even find one you like more! Good luck! :)

I too looked forever to find a perfect white HM betta. When he came along I didn't have the $ but bought him anyway and two females. Sadly one female stressed him out so much during breeding that he passed. So I gave up. Might start looking again.
