  • * You can really help us to identify with the concern more accurately if you post some pictures and a short video. I tried to get some pictures but hes just sooo tiny. These are the best I could do. I did take a super short video so hopefully you can see the raised scales there. I also included a shot of my main tank. The little guy is currently being moved into a ph/temp matched 10 gallon for treatment.

Meds I have on hand include: Medi-gold, Metro-meds, Api fungus cure, Epson salt, regular salt. Also, since I'm sure it might be asked, I cleaned out the canister filter 2 weeks ago when I noticed the frayed fins on my other fish. The HOB filters get rotated once a month. This month was the marineland that was 'cleaned'.

Tap ph is a little darker then 7.6. Canister was cleaned 2 weeks ago when I noticed frayed fins on my other fish

The GH of my main tank is 180 and the KH is about 240 if that helps also.

Go ahead and test ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate as Koko asked as well, please.

Is there anyway you could also see about getting a bit clearer pics? I'm having a hard time seeing the lifted scales in the current pics.

Hes so tiny its almost impossible to get clear pictures. I'll do my best but even my expensive Canon Rebel cant get clear enough pictures when the lens I currently have.

Also, I'm sorry I should have asked this before. Could you please see if you could weigh your fish? Thanks.

OK, so here's what I would like for you to do:

1. Change your QT water 50% daily. He's so small, so he's not going to foul his 10 gallon. Make sure temp and pH match when you change the water though :)

2. If you have a heater, raise the heat to 80%.

3. He will need to eat 1.5 to 2 pellets of Metro-Meds a day. The best way to do this is to break it into 3-4 meals, with half a pellet each time.

Update us as often as you like on his progress.

Good luck!

Just a little update. He seems to be feeling a lot better, swimming around more and no longer bottom sitting. But he has started to headstand. Im about to do a water change on his little tank and i'll see if that stops the headstands. Any advice though? He is eating the metro meds very well.

heres a short video.

Cut back to exactly 1.5 pellets daily.

I'm glad he's doing much better! :)

I noticed it might look like there is a lot of debris on the bottom of the tank. Just wanted to let you know its leftover sand from when i had the tank set up for my tropicals. :D

Sorry for the lack of updates. Schools kept me super busy. The little guy is doing very well! Tomorrow is our last day of medicated food and then I'm going to move onto feeding jumpstart for another 14 before he goes back into the main tank. I also think I'm going to order some pro gold for the main tank. I haven't noticed any growth in my little fish since I got him and I'm worried it might be due to lack of nutrition. Hopefully this food will help all my fish grow up healthy and strong :D
