The question you ask doesn't have a simple answer. You will know when it's time. I wish I could lay down specific criteria, but I don't have anything like that :(

Dnalex do you suppose that I would have seen some slight improvement in my fish since Sunday night if the metronidazole was working?

Is there a possibility that the metronidazole could make him drowsy?

He is still eating this is a positive sign right?

He's not pooping what affect is this having on his system?

If I believe I have done all I can and he is just suffering with NO possibility of recovery I'd like to stop the meds and put him back into the main tank so he can spend the night with his ranchu mate, then I will euthanize the following day :(

So the question that's plaguing my mind is..... do I continue the meds? or euthanize? :no: (and I know you can't answer this)

My fish died over night I didn't have the guts to euthanize him I hope he didn't suffer too much
