New, new guys.

Recommended Posts

And here are my terrible impulses. ;~;

The Moor I meant to buy, to house in a 30gal with my littler Moor:

He won my mom and I over with his big eyes, and dopey face. And how he swam over to our fingers while the other moors ignored us.

And the REAL impulses:

that little guy is OFFICIALLY the hardest fish to get picture of EVER.

This guy has the smaller fins of the two. But he's all siiillver and lovely.

They both have little wens. So I am thinking pearscale orandas?

Same with the others, though. No names until they have been in QT for a week.

Those are crowned pearlscales! Much hardier than tikus, they are also called hamanishikis. The boy in my avatar (Roosevelt) is a crowned pearlie. Congrats! They are super fun additions and your moor is lovely as well!

Ah, thank you!

They are what Bastion was, and even came from the same store. I really love them. ;~;

And the filter, this time around, is not only screwed in but has a sponge over it. So no hard suction at all.

Make sure to feed them lots of spinach and other foods high in calcium! Their pearls are made of calcium and so the more calcium they get the nicer they become!

Spinach is actually bad if you are looking to feed a high calcium diet. Because it has high oxalic acid and will eat up the calcium (something you leaner keeping turtles lol)

I LOVE the moor he looks so much like my Dr.House with those huge eyes!

Yes, spinach is calcium BINDING!

I learned this keeping Jake, my bearded dragon, since he looves his greens.

Also, Thank you, Findus!

I assume Dr. House is a fish of yours or the actual character? xD

I totally knew that, I was having a brain fart(I have had turtles in the past :doh11:) But things high in calcium are good for your pearlies! I believe Kale is has low oxalic acid and has a good deal of calcium.

Sweet! I ALWAYS have Kale on hand to feed to my bearded dragon. usually I freeze it then defrost it so it's mushy.

We couldn't wait to name them... :blush:

So we have named the Moor Philbert, the silver pearlie Andre, and the gold pearlie Cecile.
